TELLABRATION!™ Pioneer Valley
November 24, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 5:45 pmFree
Mill 180 Park is pleased, once again, to be part of a “Celebration of Storytelling called Tellabration! A Night Of Storytelling Around the World.”
Since 1988 and every year since, a night of storytelling has been held all over the USA on the weekend before Thanksgiving. Now this national storytelling network event has grown so much that the only
continent without a Tellebration! Is Antartica. This year one of them will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 4:00pm at Mill 180 Park. Everyone interested in the art of storytelling is invited to listen, and enjoy this community storytelling event. Come before 4:00pm and order snacks, soups, salads or a meal if desired.
Promoting the notion of storytelling as worthwhile entertainment for adults is the primary purpose of Tellebration; the other reasons are to learn about and celebrate each other. Everybody who is involved with Tellebration – producers, storytellers, and all the others who help make each show a reality – donate their time and talent.
The event is free and open to the public.
Tellebrations encourage beginners also to try their wings at storytelling during the open mic at the end. The word “grassroots” has been much used in connection with Tellebration, and it is an appropriate
one. The dictionary defines grassroots as “the basic or fundamental source or support, as of a movement.” all human beings are storytellers. Perhaps that is why almost everybody enjoys listening to a good story
when given the opportunity.
