June Art Walk

Janine Norton’s photographs—Infrared Study Continued: Mexico, are on view at Mill 180 Park from June 8 through the morning of July 13. The photographs give ordinary landscapes an otherworldly quality. To compile images for the show, she uses an Infrared camera to capture modest images in remote areas with plenty of texture. However, the photos are anything but simple. The familiar scenes are rendered in colors that are jarring in their beauty.
Ms. Norton began photography outdoors, in nature, as a native of Washington State. Her education continued in California at Art Center College Design which took her into the studio, to both still life and portraiture. Moving to New York City, she became a partner of Hing/Norton Inc., a commercial photography studio serving corporate clients in national advertising campaigns. Today she maintains her passion as a fine art and freelance photographer.
